Top 4 Luxury Blogs & Luxury Magazines in India

By: Soumya Jain

There are a plethora of blogs and magazines in India. But if you are looking for India-specific luxury media, here is our definitive list.

Since 2009, India has seen a sudden influx of international luxury brands entering the market, vying for the rich Indian consumer’s rupees. That influx led to a hunger for knowledge on these brands, their products and the lifestyle they were offering. No wonder then, that India has a gamut of media offerings which provide credible reportage on all that is fine in life. Here is a list of top 4 luxury blogs and luxury magazines in India which you should absolutely refer to when considering that next purchase!

1.      Vogue India – It comes as no surprise to put this name on the top of the list. Although the magazine covers all brands and designers that are artistic, out-of-the-box (not just luxury), it does teach a thing or two about brands, what to look for, and how to stay fabulous.

2.      Harper’s Bazaar India – Again, a leading information source for fashion, Harper’s Bazaar does offer more on the luxury sector than Vogue. A little more elite, classy and intelligent, Harper’s Bazaar is actually my top favorite when it comes to print magazines.

3.      LuxuryFacts.com – Started as India’s first and only luxury e-magazine, it is in fact a definitive source of luxury in India. While highlighting Indian brands and designers, the online magazine also highlights international brands. It talks about fine dining, watches, jewelry, automobiles and a lot more via trend reports, quick news, interviews and features. Like we said, it is a must-visit if you want more information on luxury in India.

4.      Akanksharedhu – A beautifully laid out blog, blogger and photographer Akanksha Redhu gives a camera lens-wide perspective on luxury brands in India (among other categories of brands), presenting them in a stylish way. It’s a visual feast.

What is Teppanyaki? Understanding Japanese Cuisine.

Although there is much involved in the creation of delectable Japanese cuisine, Teppanyaki forms a large part of it, which many misunderstand to be same as hibachi or just grilled food. By: Soumya Jain Japan’s cuisine is as technically precise as it is creating a watch or jewelry. The fish has to be placed just the way and seaweed rolled with just enough pressure to be able to present a perfectly made sushi. Apart from the more popular sushi and sashimi, Teppanyaki also forms a part of Japanese cuisine. To put it in easy words, Teppanyaki uses an iron griddle to cook food. In Japan, ‘teppanyaki’ refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, vegetables, okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake), yakisoba (Japanese fried noodles), and monjayaki (also a kind of savory Japanese pancake). Modern teppanyaki grills are typically propane-heated flat surface grills and are widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants. Teppanyaki grills are commonly

The Rise of Indian Luxury Brands

India is no stranger to luxury. But its manifestations have only begun to rise recently. By: Soumya Jain I still remember 2009 and the huge number of trips I made to the newly opened DLF Emporio mall that year, because all international brands were opening their stores one by one at this New Delhi mecca of pure luxury. From Cartier to Dior, international brands had finally found a location apt for their sparkling stores in India. And suddenly, all these brands and the Indian luxury industry were in news. Not that Indian luxury brands didn’t exist before this. They did. After all, who else donned the celebrity and rich brides of India before this era. It’s just that Indian luxury brands were maybe only fixed on the pages of luxury magazines in India . After this time, they became mainstream. Today everybody knows J. J. Valaya, Suneet Varma, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Good Earth, Hidesign, Zoya, Forest Essentials, Mirari and the many Indian

Luxury Reborn – Products & Concepts That Have Been Reinvented

Nothing stays forever. Change is inevitable. It is so in luxury as well. We discuss three brands that have changed their concepts to suit current times. By: Soumya Jain Change is important. As people change, so do their needs, desires and ideas. Brands and products need to accordingly reinvent themselves. Sometimes it happens by choice, sometimes by force. And with the current generation of Millennials, brands have had to walk a tightrope between tradition and innovation. The coming up Generation Z is going to change things again. We talk about three such brands and products that have molded themselves as per current times. 1.        InterContinental San Juan – One of the most popular hotels in San Juan, Puerto Rico, like all other hotels in the city, InterContinental San Juan also faced the wrath of nature during Hurricane Maria in 2017. But kudos to the brand that it resurrected much more quickly than the other hotels in the area. The hotel had already undergone exte
